The Captivation Dance Recreational Program is geared toward dancers wanting to participate in our annual recital. This program offers a variety of classes for dancers ages 18 months to adult. Available styles include Creative Movement, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop.
Our recreational program is divided into three sessions, Fall, Spring, and Summer. Our Fall Session will culminate in our annual Winter Spectacular. Our Spring Session will culminate in our annual Spring Recital. Our Summer Session is a fantastic time to continue to dance over the summer break from school while focusing on dance technique.
Dance at Captivation
Each fall our dancers have the chance to participate in our Winter Spectacular. This informal performance typically takes place on a Saturday in December (date to be determined).
Dancers work during the fall session to learn their dance technique. Teachers will choreograph short routines that highlight the new skills the dancers have been working on. Then family and friends are invited to an afternoon of dance!
We also usually spotlight our Holiday Stop N Shop during this event where several local small businesses will be featured.
Winter Spectacular
Each spring our dancers have the chance to perform in our Spring Recital. This formal performance takes place in June and the 2026 Spring Recital will be at Five Points in Washington.
Dancers have had almost a full year working on their dance technique at this point, so our teachers will choreograph full routines that highlight their dancers skills. Dancers will dress in full costume and take to the stage for their family and friends.
