Kaleigh M. Schmidt
Owner / Artistic Director
Kaleigh Schmidt is the owner and artistic director of Captivation Dance. She has 20 years of ongoing dance training in ballet, pointe, jazz, street jazz, tap, modern, contemporary and hip-hop. She graduated Washington Community High School in 2013 and studied Dance Performance at Illinois State University. At Illinois State was involved in the Dance Theater Company, Dance Associations, Redline Express Dance Team, and Urban Movement Hip-Hop Team. She started teaching dance at the age of 12 and has received multiple awards for her choreography. Outside of the studio, Kaleigh is also the dance team coach for Dee-Mack High School.

Captivation Dance is excited to welcome our newest team member, Melissa Sage-Bollenbach. Melissa will be serving as our Studio Manager. She has a bachelor's and master's degree, both from Bradley University, and 15 years of professional program and office management experience. She will perform and coordinate various duties for the studio including billing and budget management, dancer attendance, quality improvement, marketing and advertising, and community relations. You may recognize Melissa from around the studio as her daughter Katlin is a member of our competitive program and has danced with Kaleigh for six years. Melissa's goals include getting to know each of our Captivation Dance families and ensuring that all dancers are achieving their goals with the studio.
"I'm really excited to utilized my prior professional skills to help the studio grow and achieve. As a former competitive dancer, it has always been a passion of mine and I'm thrilled to be able to help move the studio forward!"
Emily Schumacher is the competitive coach and instructor for the Junior, Teen, Master, and Premier Companies, as well as Level 2 and Level 3 classes. Emily is a recent graduate from Illinois State University's Dance Performance Program where she studied ballet, modern, and jazz. Emily loves to choreograph and her choreography has been shown in the Dance Association annual Dance Inventions concert, as well as the American College Dance Association's regional conference. She is excited to be with Captivation Dance for their 2nd year and is looking forward to what this season brings!
Madison is a recent graduate of Illinois State University where she continued dancing and choreographing for the past 21 years. At ISU she performed with the ISU Competitive Dance Team and Amnesty Dance Project. She was also captain of Urban Movement, and received a minor in Dance Performance. She has performed at World of Dance, American College Dance Association regional conference, The Choreographers Carnival Ball Chicago, and placed in the National Dance Alliance College
finals. She has a passion for dance as well as nutrition as she is a WIC Nutritionist. She is excited to be joining the Captivation Dance team to share her knowledge and explore techniques with the students.
Kaitlyne Fields is a resent graduate from Heyworth High School. She will be attending Illinois State University in the fall to study Business Administration and Dance Performance. Kaitlyne has been involved in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip-Hop for 15 years. She has also spent the last two years at Captivation Dance as a competitive dancer. Kaitlyne is very eager to share her knowledge, passion, and love of dance with others!
Hannah Kees will be a sophomore nursing student at Bradley this fall. She was a member on the Bravettes’ Dance Team last season, and plans to continue dancing again this year. Before moving to Bradley, Hannah danced at Encore Performing Art Studio in Canton, IL. While in Canton, she trained for 14 years in ballet, contemporary, modern, pointe, tap, jazz, and hip hop. She is very excited to begin teaching and starting her new journey at CDK!
Camryn Kirkham is a current senior at Bradley University where she will be dancing on the Bravettes’ dance team for her third year. Previously, Camryn danced at a studio in Springfield, IL where she spent 13 years training in tap, contemporary, hip-hop, and jazz and five years in the competitive program. She was also an instructor for the 3-year-old “Creative Movement” class and has experience in working with junior and high school level-aged students. Camryn is excited to teach again, especially as a member of CDK and can’t wait to share her passion for dance with her students and staff!
